Our geothermal waters are the heart of Iron Mountain Hot Springs, fed by four distinct natural springs that bubble up from deep within the earth. A hot spring is a natural discharge of groundwater that has been heated by geothermal energy from the Earth's crust, enriched with a unique blend of minerals like iron, sulfate, and magnesium as it rises to the surface. For generations, these therapeutic waters have drawn visitors to the banks of the Colorado River, and we continue that legacy today by offering 16 original geothermal hot springs where you can soak in the same raw, healing heat that defines the history of Glenwood Springs.

Here, we use pure freshwater as a canvas, precisely adding specific mineral formulas to mimic the chemistry and benefits of the most famous hot springs on the planet. Geothermal Hot Springs
At Iron Mountain Hot Springs, the experience is rooted deep underground, where surface water filters through the earth and is naturally heated by the planet’s internal energy. This geothermal process does more than just warm the water; as it circulates through ancient rock layers, it dissolves and absorbs a unique blend of 14 restorative minerals—including the iron that gives our property its name. This thermal energy drives the mineral-rich water back to the surface, where we carefully channel it into our 16 Geothermal Hot Springs. By harnessing this raw, subterranean heat, we offer a pure and therapeutic pool temperatures ranging from 98°F to 108°F, allowing you to experience the natural healing power of the Colorado Rockies in a serene riverside setting.
