28 Jul A Decade of Soaking, Growing & Giving Back
We’re celebrating a major milestone! Iron Mountain Hot Springs turns 10 in 2025!
Over the last decade, Iron Mountain Hot Springs in Glenwood Springs has become a global geothermal hotspot. While renovations have run the gamut over the past decade, improving the resort in ways large and small, at the 10-year mark, Iron Mountain is working toward its biggest reveal to date but at its heart, is the resort’s devotion to community—improving the experience for those who love to soak in the mineral waters, and improving the lives of those for whom the waters of life aren’t always calm.
Growing a Legacy on the Banks of the Colorado River

In August 2014, co-owners Steve and Jeanne Beckley, along with Mogli and Coop Cooper, began transforming a site along the Colorado River rife with naturally-occurring hot springs into what, a decade later, has become a geothermal destination.
In July 2015, Iron Mountain Hot Springs made a splash onto the Glenwood attractions scene with 17 uniquely shaped mineral soaking pools, each one a different temperature. Rounding out the offerings, the owners added a large family mineral pool, a jetted spa, bathhouse facilities, dining, and retail—all anchored by the unsurpassed beauty of the Colorado River just steps away.
Highlights Hall of Fame
Over the last decade, Iron Mountain has matured, largely in response to guest feedback and the brand’s commitment to excellence. Some quick highlights include:
-

2016–2017. Iron Mountain expanded the locker rooms, providing guests with more space and amenities. Other upgrades included custom wrought-iron railings and the addition of cooling outdoor showers. A refurbished entryway added welcoming alpine grandeur, while the sand‑based filtration system was a practical solution to reduce natural algae to enhance the soaking experience.
- Mid-2017. At just two years old, Luxury Travel Guide (LTG), a leading provider of travel news based in the United Kingdom, recognized Iron Mountain as an Innovative Hot Springs Centre of the Year for Colorado. According to LTG, the award represents the pinnacle of hospitality achievement and pays tribute to those who have excelled in their industry.
- 2023. More recently, Iron Mountain Hot Springs launched Premier Access which offers guests 21 and over entrée to 13 globally-inspired mineral pools, including the distinctive high-salinity Dead Sea Pool, the large Blue Lagoon, as well as a cold plunge pool. Poolside dining also got a bump up with the Sandbar Café offering mobile ordering and elevated fare.
- Spring 2025: In addition to a major renovation in the spring that enhanced the locker rooms with new fixtures and showers, the resort is treating guests to an assortment conveniences and discounts like EZ charge bracelets for cashless convenience, Premier Access poolside beverage delivery, and locals’ tickets—which allow those living in Garfield, Eagle, or Pitkin counties the opportunity to enjoy the facilities at a 50% discount.
Rooted in Community & Giving Back
Since opening a decade ago, Iron Mountain Hot Springs has been thoroughly embedded in the local community. Giving back to families in the community has been part of Iron Mountain Hot Spring’s philosophy since its opening in 2015. Iron Mountain Hot Springs supports nearly 300 organizations, working with local non-profits and providing support through on-site events, in-kind donations, and sponsorships.
Iron Mountain Hot Springs is proud to partner with a different non-profit annually. In 2025, Garfield County Search & Rescue was selected. Guests have the option to donate when they purchase their ticket, with Iron Mountain Hot Springs matching the donations made. This deep-rooted connection to the community reflects the brand’s mission to build not just a resort, but a place that actively serves and uplifts its hometown.
