Visiting Glenwood Springs

While you’re in Glenwood Springs, in addition to geothermal soaking, you may want to enjoy other activities such as rafting, hiking, skiing, rock climbing, fishing, mountain biking, shopping, dining and more. Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, located just a short walk from Iron Mountain Hot Springs, offers cave tours, thrill rides, a scenic tram ride, live music and entertainment, family-friendly rides and attractions, mountain-top dining and holiday lights.

You’ll also find plenty of cultural activities in Glenwood Springs including free concerts like Summer of Music and Music on the Mountain, farmers’ markets, a vaudeville comedy show, town-wide celebrations like Strawberry Days and Ski Spree and as well as other arts, dance and musical entertainment. The Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association can provide up-to-date information and help you plan your trip. If you’re already in town, stop by the Visitor Center at 802 Grand Avenue.

The resort towns of Aspen, Vail and Snowmass are all located within an hour’s drive of Glenwood Springs and provide additional opportunities to enjoy your Colorado vacation.

Getting here

Glenwood Springs is located just off I-70 and is close to several airports. Eagle County Airport is 30-miles (48-km) east of town; the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport is 40-miles (64-km) to the south; and Walker Field in Grand Junction is 90-miles (145-km) to the west. Amtrak’s California Zephyr has year-round, daily arrivals in Glenwood Springs from points east and west.

Directions

From I-70, take exit #116. Proceed north to stoplight at 6th Street. Turn left (west) on 6th and continue straight for 1/3-mile (.5-km) to Devereux Road. Turn left (south) on Devereux and proceed to Centennial Street. Turn right on Centennial and continue to the Iron Mountain Hot Springs.
